Something for all skill levels at KOLO Bike Park
Love this place
Fun trails. Close to town. Friendly people!
I moved to Western North Carolina 10 years ago to ride bikes across the uneven, steep, off-road terrain of these mountains.
This area is a mountain biker’s Mecca. Within a 45 minutes’ drive of downtown Asheville, there is a nearly endless supply of unforgettable single-track, double-track, and fire roads. But sometimes I don’t have the time or don’t want to load up the car and drive to a trailhead.
This is the problem Kolo Mountain Bike Park has solved. They took the underutilized woods surrounding the Crown Plaza golf course, and turned it into fast, swoopy single-track. Just minutes from town by bike (and seconds by car), Asheville cyclists can get dirty.
There are currently four miles of trails at the park, with plans to add at least two more. Each loop has enough elevation gain that you feel newly worked, and sometimes the attraction of a cold keg beer makes it hard to pass the office for another loop.
The newest benefit to the park is the pump track, which is challenge in its own right and completely addictive. Come out for a pump track race one Saturday if you want to see just how fast some of Asheville’s riders can be on this thing.
If you are traveling from about of town and you don’t want to bring your mountain bike, the Kolo rental fleet are plenty decent bikes…possibly better than what you’re used to.
I’m a devoted fan of this place, and I ride there often. You should too.
Good trails, and it’s nice that’s is so close to town
Great place to ride and hang out. Some of the nicest down to earth people I have ever met!
This place was amazing. Had so much fun. The people are great and the bike trails are too.
The folks at Kolo Bike park are the best. My son and I rented two sweet full suspension bikes for three days of major fun. We started at the park and had a blast! Being able to rent and ride trails right inside such great town is just another plus when visiting Asheville. Kolo park makes that possible. I fully recommend paying the park a visit.
Great place to get outdoors and have fun. Trails for all ages.
Great fun for kids ages 6, 8 and 9 and parents too. We had such a good time that we went right back the next day.
So much fun and great way to get exercise! The people went above and beyond making sure our tires were the right pressure for the trails as we haven’t ridden bikes in years. There are trails for very age and experience and fitness level! Can’t wait to go back!
I came up from Florida to ride DH at Bailey Mountainbike Park in Mars Hill,
arriving a day early to ride the dirt jumps at Kolo.
I am new to DJ and I was not disappointed. The next Bailey trip will include at least 2 days at Kolo.
Thanks for a great riding venue!
Really fun place to ride with a lot of different options and variety to keep things interesting. Kolo definitely brings the flow and is a great destination for a unique style of riding just a short ride from downtown Asheville and West Asheville.
